Change a light, Change the world
As part of the Energy Star “Change a Light, Change the World” program, on October 4, 2006,Sustainable Sandhills and Sustainable Fort Bragg celebrated the distribution of 6,200 compact fluorescent light (CFL) bulbs in the Sandhills Region. Sandhills citizens will save nearly $200,000 in electricity costs and bulb replacement costs over the life of these 6,200 CFL’s.
October 7, 2006: Sustainable Sandhills staff and volunteers directed an effort that led to sales of 500-600 CFL's at SAM'S Club in Fayetteville! During November and December, Sustainable Sandhills partnered with local Wal-Mart’s across the Sandhills to promote the use of CFL’s. Each Saturday we were at a different Wal-Mart in Hope Mills, Erwin, Aberdeen, Biscoe, Rockingham, Laurinburg, Spring Lake and Sanford.
