To celebrate America Recycles Day, Sustainable Sandhills holds an annual e-waste drive in November, in collaboration with the City of Fayetteville and Cumberland County. At the 2021 event, 8,540 lbs of electronics were recycled.

Recycle Electronics Year-Round

Electronics can be recycled at any of the 16 Cumberland County drop-off sites year-round, during their operating hours. In addition, Sustainable Sandhills collects cell phones, tablets, and printer cartridges year-round in exchange for funding through Eco-Cell and Funding Factory. These items can be dropped off at their offices at 201 S. McPherson Church Rd. (please email anna@sustainablesandhills.org to schedule an appointment for drop-off). Electronics that are accepted through this program include cell phones, smartphones, iPhones, iPods, iPads, tablets, Apple\Android watches, bluetooth, tablets. GPS, MP3 players, e-readers, digital cameras, handheld gaming systems and the accessories that come with them. The list of accepted printer cartridges can be found here.
