PROGRAMS
Programs may be tailored for all ages, time limits and other considerations.
THE LIFE OF A BEEKEEPER
What is the BUZZ on beekeeping? A local beekeeper teaches our audience about the daily tasks involved in beekeeping. If weather permits, he may have an observation beehive for display.
PINING FOR YOU: LIFE AMONG THE LONGLEAFS
What is special about the longleaf pine ecosystem in the Sandhills? We teach our audience about the flora and fauna in these unique forests as well as the environmental and economic contributions of pine trees, prescribed fire, dendrochronology (aging a tree) and more.
POLLINATOR-PALOOZA
We teach our audience about pollination through a series of activities and demonstrate the importance of pollinators to our environment and economy. We teach participants about the types of pollinators, the process of pollination, the foods that pollinators produce and ways to support pollinator populations.
TALKIN’ TRASH
We teach our audience about the right ways (and wrong ways) to recycle with this interactive game. Participants will sort trash and recyclables to learn if they recycle right.
WATER, WATER EVERYWHERE
How much water is in our oceans? Our rivers? Our lakes? We teach our audience about water distribution on our planet and discuss the consequences of pollution with a wet but fun demonstration. (A water source is needed for this program.)
THE STATE OF SUSTAINABILITY
A member of our team will chat with your group about the sustainability successes, threats and solutions that are currently at the forefront of our communities.
