ECO-HIKE AND LITTER SWEEP
CARVERS CREEK STATE PARK LONG VALLEY FARM ACCESS
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 19, 2026 AT 10 AM
2505 LONG VALLEY ROAD IN SPRING LAKE
Join Sustainable Sandhills for a 1 mile hike through the beautiful and historic Long Valley Farm at Carvers Creek State Park. Our guide will lead participants on a trek down the Cypress Point Trail and chat about the region’s flora, fauna, geology, history and more.
Following the hike, we’ll conduct a litter sweep of the park’s gateway road. Supplies including safety vests, litter grabbers, gloves and trash bags will be provided.
(Participation is optional. The litter sweep will begin at 1 pm.)
We’ll provide lunch for volunteers who attend the hike AND litter sweep!
This event is free and open to the public and recommended for ages 8 and up. Leashed, well mannered dogs are welcome!
The trail is sandy and relatively flat with some areas of deep sand. There are some water features on this hike.

NATIVE PLANT GARDEN GLOW-UP

Help us beautify the native plant gardens at the Carvers Creek State Park visitors center. We need volunteers to weed, plant, mulch and complete other garden tasks.

Join Sustainable Sandhills for a 1.5 mile hike through the beautiful longleaf pine forests of Cumberland County. Our guide will lead participants on a trek down the Wiregrass Loop Trail and chat about the region’s flora, fauna, geology, history and more.
Following the hike, we’ll conduct a litter sweep of the park’s gateway road. Supplies including safety vests, litter grabbers, gloves and trash bags will be provided.
